For 4 years we have worked with the local Dubai office to arrange all aspects of the PricewaterhouseCoopers annual general partners meetings for the Middle East region.
For this event PwC wanted a more traditional Arabic theme. The event was attended by some 100 regional partners and about 50 of their spouses. Guests arrived in the afternoon of the first day, finally meeting up at a relaxed dinner by the pool down by the sea front. Light music accompanied the event and decorative lighting added to the ambiance. The conferences started the next morning and ran for two full days. For this we provided the stage backdrop, printed collateral and all production and audio visual requirements.
The gala dinner is traditionally held on the second night. Using Jordan’s extensive Roman history as a central theme, we adapted the existing stepped Roman style amphitheater to accommodate seated banqueting tables and transformed the whole area into a luxuriant venue. The main attraction was a stage show performed by RACE, the Roman Army Chariot Experience, a troupe of permanent actors and stunt performers based at the old Roman ruins in Jerash.
The last night’s dinner was an informal barbecue at the adjacent Marriott Hotel and included a full entertainment program of extremely well known local bands performing jazz and Arabic fusion together with a traditional dance troupe.
Our role began with a site visit several months earlier to scout out venue options, activities available, local technical support. The event management role we provided also included the sourcing and producing of gifts, the entire transport logistics, organizing a full program of sight-seeing and activities for the spouses and even a pre-arranged weekend program so that delegates attending the conference could go on afterwards to visit Wadi Rum or Petra.
